Job Opportunity: Professional Contract Trainer Positions Available
Post Date 9/22/08

(Note: The SEAF Board discussed whether this opportunity should be posted, since it is a training opportunity and not specifically a facilitation job. IAF is very clear about the difference between facilitation and training: a facilitator controls the process and is neutral about the content, whereas a trainer controls the process and content.

After much discussion we decided to post this - because 1) the skills are extremely complementary and if you do not facilitate as a trainer, you are not as competent as you could be, and 2) jobs are jobs, and if this would help someone we want to share it. As we move forward with our new website (should be up and running in December) perhaps we can add more job listings there in the future. Here's the posting:

Description: Excellent opportunity for professional trainers - apply your knowledge of the telecommunication industry and your professional trainer skills to facilitate instructor led training for a major telecommunication firm. Multiple positions are available.

Competitive market rate of $650 per day + travel expenses paid. Up to 100% travel within the U.S. is required - home location will be considered in overall travel / training schedule. Trainers need to be available full-time for the duration of the project; however, a few prior commitment dates are allowed and need to be communicated before project starts (i.e., trainers need to be available for 90% or more of the entire project duration).

Majority of classes will be delivered Monday thru Friday. A few sessions will be conducted Tuesday -Saturday. Hurry! Positions are being filled quickly.
  • Project Duration: October 13 - November 22,, 2008. Mandatory train-the-trainer session for final candidate selection: October 14 - 17, 2008 in Phoenix.
  • Time: Training fulltime during the project duration
  • Content: telecommunication product knowledge and some sales skills
  • Course length: 4 hours for each session (2 sessions taught each day to make a full day)
  • Location: United States - concentration in Western, Southwestern and Midwest states
  • Compensation: $650 per day + travel expenses If you or a colleague you know are interested: Please send resume and 2 references (include contact information) and any questions to chris@iansiti.com
